It has been such a long time since I read a YA romance like this. The author did a great job of putting me into the mindset of a teenager. Every little thing matters and feelings are often big and confusing. I fell in love with the characters in this book. I cared about them, cried over their story. I was rooting for their love and happiness. I found myself hoping for a happily ever after, despite the foreshadowing of the ending. This book broke my heart. Since finishing it, I find myself still thinking about the characters and how their lives could have been different with minor detail changes.
Spice level is 1/5. There is kissing, mentions of sex, and a closed door scene.
Overall, I gave this book a 4/5 rating because the story felt slow at times, but it had a big emotional impact on me in the end and has stick with me since.
