Planet Adyn by M.L. Wang
4.0
4.5 Star Rating
I don't read many books that are considered Young Adult and this one might even go as far as being considered Middle Grade. It is also drastically different from M.L. Wang's Sword of Kaigen but I already knew that going in.
With that being said, I truly enjoyed this quick fun read. I find myself loving the author's writing styles from both books I've read now. It was cute to see the young teen struggle of both Joan and Daniel and how different their worlds are from one another. There are definitely some very sad moments but some very fulfilling and exciting moments as well.
I've already picked up the next book to follow Planet Adyn and hope to get to it next month.
******Spoilers*******
Just to give a bit of background to this book, it picks up with a very young girl who discovers she has some amazing powers, she gets into some trouble with these powers and ends up hiding them from everyone for years as she secrets explores and practices with them and doesn't let anyone else ever know she has them since people hadn't reacted well when she was a small child.
The the Thundyil's come into her life. For anyone that has read Sword of Kaigen this was Robin and little Daniel (from the end of SoK). This is several years later as Daniel and Joan are both in their teens when they meet. I loved their relationship since they were both so different. I'm definitely looking forward to some more explanation of things in Orbit. I heard the author isn't continuing this series and further so hoping to get some closure at least even if we do end up with a cliffhanger at the end of the next book.
