Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer

5.0

It's not perfect and it's overly long, but I really liked getting not only Edward's perspective, but also a deeper understanding of most of the characters via Edward's mind-reading ability. Example: in the first book, Jasper seems like an unnecessary side character -- Alice's arm candy. However, in the baseball scene and later the fight against James, his abilities prove incredibly formidable. This book fills in all of the gaps of things that were going on outside of Bella's knowledge and gives the overall story much more depth.
