Stolen from the Hitman by Alexis Abbott, Alex Abbott
3.0
3.5 Stars!
Max is a retired assassin who worked with the Bratva. He now works as a gymnastics coach in University in Paris. He recruits Olivia right out of high school with a scholarship to the university he coaches at. Olivia's first night in Paris gets her in more trouble than she knows what to do with causing Max to come to her and her new roommates rescue.
Alexis Abbott is the Queen of Hitman novels. Even though her Hero's are always Bratva assassins, they never feel like the same story over and over. The author does a great job of making each novel feel like a fresh story line. I love that her hitmen are ultimately good men who want to do the right thing. They always feel like they are undeserving but ultimately finds the one woman that makes them want to be a better man.
In Max and Olivia's story, the action was spot on. I loved the car chase! It couldn't have been better written! Felix, as a side character, he really brought a lot to this story. I loved that he was friends with Max as unlikely a pair they were. The only thing I really had an issue with was Olivia being fresh from High School. I couldn't seem to get past that she should have been too young and naive for this retired hitman. I normally don't have issues with age gaps so I'm not sure why I couldn't get past Olivia's young age. Overall, a really great action read!
