Spice Rating: (0/5 peppers)

What I loved:
  • Multiple POVs that keep you on your toes
  • The mysterious vibes throughout the book as Synali slowly uncovers the truth
  • The relationship development and character development throughout
  • Heavenbreaker
  • The definitions at the beginning of the chapters

What I hated:
  • The beginning was hard to follow, trying to figure out who was saying what
  • The cliffhanger ending

Favorite quotes:

  • I have learned that when fear bites, you must bite back, or it will eat you whole.
  • One does not need to be routinely intelligent to achieve victory, Synali-one merely needs to strike when their opponent blunders.
  • The pawn is the only piece that refuses to move backward.
  • There are things in this universe that do not die; they only change their names.
  • They can choose to kill you. But you are the only one who can choose to live.
