Rescuing Kassie by Susan Stoker

5.0

Kassie Anderson is a very persistent woman. Graham “Hollywood” Caverly loves to laugh. Loved how the author has the reader get to know the main characters at the beginning. But then she creates a scene that has me asking, “Where are you taking this?” Then I have to answer “I’m not going anywhere until I find out.”

Intimidation was a hard thing to read just because I can imagine how frightening it was to be on the receiving end. This is the perfect vehicle to show how creative Ms. Stoker is. I want to scream, I want to call the authorities, but then I calm down because it is a work of fiction after all. She also has a way of working in characters from previous books in the series.

What I love about this series is how these men go about protecting their women – swoon. They treat their women with respect – fan myself. But they don’t suffocate (or at least try not to) – amen! Loved how the author continued to make me laugh right along with the characters. One scene had me thinking about how my dad always wore Old Spice. Lately I’ve been wishing it came in a candle.

There were tie-ins to previous books but you’re not required to read them in order to enjoy this one. It could be incentive to go back and read any books you may have missed though. If you have read the series then you’ll be happy to know that Annie makes an appearance and she’s still a scene-stealer. If I had to prepare a warning it would be to block out your day because once you start reading you won’t be able to put your book down. Even when the author has me wanting to make a fast food run – good thing I have a food allergy.

The ending hints as to the next book in the series. I’m happy to see this series to continue and to get to know more about the men of Delta Force and the women that come to love them. My disappointment comes in the length of time I have to wait for it to come out.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
