I Shimmer Sometimes, Too by Porsha Olayiwola

5.0

Given to me by my daughter, this book of poems both shook me and gave me hope. I wouldn’t dare “review” this, as Olayiwola’s lived experience is not mine. But her words. They pulled me into a world of which I know nothing, even though I live relatively close. They had me holding up a mirror to my privilege and my skin color. And they had my jaw dropping and my eyes tearing up. These words are magic.
