As the only second daughter to be born in centuries Red's fate is to be sacrificed to the Wolf in the Wilderwood.
She has grown up knowing and accepting her fate, raised on stories of the monstrous Wolf stealing away second daughters to the enchanted forest he rules over, but it turns out The Wolf isn't a monster, he's simply a, somewhat magical, young(ish) man tied up in his own fate and with his own struggles!

This booked ticked a lot of my favourite fantasy tropes! Going into it I expected a take on Little Red Riding Hood but it really turned out more like Beauty and The Beast!
I loved the worldbuilding and the magic system, The Wilderwood, which acted as a character itself, is truly enchanted. And I simply adored The Wolf and Red, the chemistry between them, and everything they went through! They were written beautifully!
(I also couldn't help but picture Eamonn as a slightly wilder Hozier ...which helped ๐Ÿฅต๐Ÿ˜‚)
I found myself rushing to read what happened, but also not wanting it to end! I've already pre-ordered the upcoming sequel as I simply need more!!

An enjoyable, truly absorbing read for any fantasy fan!
