This was a unique read for me- my first gothic romance. I have to say I struggled with some supernatural elements, specifically voices and visions. It was tough keeping track of what was mental illness and what wasn’t real.

Pros: The main romance was honestly kind of sweet. Healing from trauma, one good-ish redemption arc (kinda), finding a cure, discovering one’s passion.

Cons: Mel’s character, SUPER creepy creeps, violence for no reason, complex trauma and pain, abusive relationships, overall story wasn’t 100% fluid (you can catch some mistakes, inconsistencies, jumping around, etc,).

Overall this book sucked me in and I couldn’t think of anything else while reading. I unfortunately DID guess one of the big plot twists pretty far in advance, but it still made for good reading.

I would absolutely recommend this book. Check content warnings first. Good little moth. 🫶🏼
