adventuralou 's review for:
The Butcher and the Wren
by Alaina Urquhart
IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD.
First this book comes off like it was written by someone who does a true crime podcast (which I know it is) but the way it reads is very much like a podcast.
My biggest heart break is the “big reveal/twist” that you see coming, which is ruined because of one sentence referring to the past with the present name (trying not to spoil). The story wouldn’t have been able to work if the past was the same as the present because it just wouldn’t make sense to why wait they _ years. Anyway that was a huge blow and everything else just seemed to drag on and the only reason I finished it was because I already made it half way through. And a terrible ending.
Just boring. Was really exciuted to read this one too.
