The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty

5.0

here lies a (very big) piece of my heart.

i'm not sobbing something just got into my eyes & they are red because i have an allergic reaction!!!!!! i absolutely haven't spent the last two hours crying rivers and i totally don't have a mountain of tissues on my night stand. NOP THAT'S NOT ME.

i have been staring at the wall for ten minutes straight. someone save me.

jokes aside, this book broke me in a half and then repaired me with melted gold just like the japanese technique. i am now a crying but beautiful mess and that's all because i loved every little bit of this but i got such a massive emotional damage i won't ever recover from this (don't mind me i'm just being dramatic)

the last time i had a post-series depression was with the mirror visitor series BUT THIS TIME THE DEPRESSION'S HUGE.
chakraborty's characters kept me company in my holidays, i woke up and read while eating breakfast, i fell asleep after finishing reading the last chapter and they just grew on me. they felt so real and a part of my routine and i can't believe i won't read about their stories again tomorrow morning
