Maeve in America: Essays by a Girl from Somewhere Else by Maeve Higgins

4.0

I discovered Maeve Higgins from the NPR show Wait Wait Don't Tell Me where she regularly seems to have no idea what is going on but says everything in such a charming accent that you can't help but fall in love. I listened to this as an audiobook and really enjoyed it. She has a longer essay about her short lived immigrant podcast. It describes the chaos that unfolded right after Trump was inaugurated and it almost seems quaint compared to the horrors of today. I'd recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed Mindy Kaling's or Tina Fey's book.
