Brisk, engaging pacing that keeps readers hooked from start to finish - I tore through this book in one single rainy day. The novel vividly captures Toronto’s essence, a treat for locals and a dreamy escape for others. Echoing the charm of classic *Law & Order* episodes, it navigates between investigation and trial, switching perspectives. Rotenberg’s legal expertise adds authenticity, making this a very satisfying read for courtroom drama fans.

Though this is the second installment in a series, I hadn't read the first and had no trouble following.
