My first 5 star of the year, finally!

People have been telling me for a good year or so that I should read this one and I've avoided it because I don't read much YA contemporary anymore. However, no one told me this has the vibes of To All The Boys I've Loved before. I absolutely loved this. From chapter 1 I was hooked. I didn't actually know the synopsis of this book but immediately loved the movie quotes, references and Wes, as well as Liz and Wes's back and forth. It's only once Michael came into the picture that I suddenly realised where this book was going to go.

It was cute, it was messy, it had me laughing and squealing and kicking my feet as well as almost crying at parts, and I loved every second. I really loved the way Liz's grief was portrayed in this as well. I am truly hooked. I can't wait to read more from Lynn Painter.

Also, casting directors - thoughts on Hannah Waddingham as Helena? No idea why, but she's who I had in my head the whole time. She'd make the perfect Helena.
