Really the writing style killed this one, but so did the world. I just couldn’t get behind it.

The magic system is inconsistent, and it’s forgotten about when it would solve issues. And never well explained. 

why bother setting high stakes if blood witches can practically bring people back to life at the end? And if Reid can cast magic because he’s sad his lover died, surely there would’ve been other guys who could’ve done it before him.
