Wow. If you want a book that leaves you thinking, “Wait, what?”, The Last House on Needless Street will be a perfect read for you.

I will say that when I was looking at this book online, I saw that it was always categorized as “horror.” I don’t think this is very accurate, as I didn’t find myself feeling scared at all, but it was very suspenseful. It’s a minor distinction, I know, but the book didn’t live up to those “horror” expectations I had for it.

It’s also very hard to write a review, as I think that this book is best experienced knowing as little about it as possible. Things are written in a very surreal and kind of dreamlike style at times, and as the reader, I was often unsure if things were actually happening. All of that does pay off in the end though, so try to stick it out if you feel like you’re starting to get bogged down! I was satisfied with the conclusion, and I felt like all of the loose ends were tied up.
