really enjoyed this! informative and insightful, and definitely interesting perspective i hadn’t thought about before especially regarding the digitization of languages that don’t adhere to the qwerty keyboard of the romance languages. i hadn’t ever thought much about non-phonetic written scripts at all. definitely useful in understanding chinese modernization and industrialization over the past two centuries
