I was really looking forward to this book based on the reviews and synopsis! The first half was great, with excellent pacing.The twist of finding out Ashley is in on it was wild. Then it got way too action movie like and the last quarter was so unrealistic. Jay also seemed like a kid written by a grown adult, way too mature and compliant, so that was distracting. There was a ridiculous amount of plot convenience but it was still a pretty fun read. The plot twist of Darby living at the end detracted from the gravity of the final scenes at the rest stop.
