This series is like sitting down with a hot cuppa and some cookies..... I wish I could say that it's perfect, because there are some obvious racist, colonialist, and classist over-tones that were probably quite mild and well-meaning for the time the series was written, but stick out like a sore thumb now, so I can't give the series 5 stars. But the general gentle vibe of the series, the mild frustrations and daily interactions of the residents of Thrush Green are kindly and well-meaning, and so for that I do enjoy these books.
