I had an interesting disxussion about this book when I was 2/3rd in and was feeling too white an audience to fully appreciate the thrill. It was all done so subtle. Knowing things like that actually happen, but never experiencing it, made it more like reading the news. Then the last 100 pages came along... and totally sucked me in. Wow!
