Beck is the wild one of the Westons. He plays professional hockey and lets his family run the family business(es). One night after celebrating, he sees a beautiful redhead and is absolutely smitten. They have a memorable mini fling, but after, go their separate ways, knowing their timing and schedules do not match. They keep in touch via text but he eventually stops communicating with her. Or does he?
Jolie knew when she met Beck, that he wasn't the kind of guy who would really be into her, a college student who didn't have time to hang out with a professional hockey player. Except she was wrong because he isn't just interested, he's beyond fascinated. They have their time together, but their lives are at different places, and they can't really be together. Until today when they finally see each other again years later...but she's as off-limits as possible, considering her father just bought Beck's team, and she works for the team too. Now the two have to decide what and who is really important.
Oh Beck...this Weston is a sweet charmer with a devilish tongue and a romantic heart, absolutely head over heels with Jolie. They had an obstacle-laden journey ahead of them, but one that didn't diminish their delicious chemistry and their rock solid emotional connection. I love how much they fought for each other, fought for their relationship, and how they couldn't restrain themselves one bit. Veering into hockey is certainly different for the Westons and friends, but Marni took the hockey trope and ran, with amazing results! The next Weston will be on my Kindle soon, and I'm excited to read as Walker falls in love in The Mysterious One.
