I really wanted this to be much more than it was. This is the first book in this series that has felt incomplete to me.

As usual, I like the universe and the main plot line. I was also pleasantly surprised at how Apollo was written - I definitely was expecting them to be a more heavy-handed character.

I did not, however, appreciate quite a bit about this book.

Cassandra was nearly insufferable. Her spending a lot of the book lashing out at everyone who interacted with her just for existing was exhausting. I'm also missing any major character development from her that would have made her more likable or sympathetic.
The dom/sub relationship wasn't as nuanced as it should have been - One partner felt more switch to me, and the other more brat. I feel like that could have been leaned into much more than it was just to make it make more sense.
I also felt zero chemistry between the two MCs aside from overt sexual attraction. At the end, they both made pretty big declarations and I have no idea how they got there.

Overall okay, but I'm still pretty disappointed.
