Mamo by Sas Milledge
4.0
A hedge witch returns to her home town to gather the scattered remains of her grandmother to prevent all heck breaking loose. Economically told and lusciously illustrated, Mamo frustratingly lacks biographical details for the author (she's Australian! Whoo!), and is delightfully self-contained. It's modern and progressive in its representation while boasting a distinct old world charm.
Deceptively simple but effective.
