Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis

3.0

A few caveats with this rating:

1. I’ve heard many evangelicals say how much they hate this book and I don’t really get why. I think there are a few times where she was speaking from a place of what worked for her rather than what was “biblical,” but also this book wasn’t written as a sermon? She doesn’t need to point every single thing back to God or forfeit the title of “Christian.” Cool your pants people!

2. That being said, if you’re reading this as if you were talking to a friend about their life experience, it’s great! If you’re reading as a Christian motivational book or self care book, it’s garbage. Hence the 3 stars. All about the perspective you read it from.

3. I liked listening on 2x speed because it made her sound like Pam from the Office.

All in all, if you’re looking for some motivation/inspiration, I’d title this “Girl, don’t waste your time.” But since I needed a fluffy listen during traffic, I enjoyed it.
