The Divided Earth by Faith Erin Hicks

4.0

An excellent finale to what has been a most engaging graphic novel trilogy. With the General of All Blades out of the way, it would seem that The Nameless City and any chance of unity is lost but Rat and Kai have other plans.

When I read this I was so concerned that Erin Hicks wouldn't be able to tie all the threads together whilst maintaining the same pace and sense of excitement that she did in the other two. Rest assured though, this is a conclusion which is far more satisfying than any recent Star Wars trilogy.

This is a brilliant series and will appeal to so many, young smart readers. The politics is necessary but never muddies the narrative. This, more than anything, is a story about people, unity and fighting oppression.
