A very enjoyable read, but best to set aside expectations of “originality” or “rational main character decisions.” 😅
If Beauty and the Beast and Hades had a child, it would be this book. Some of the dialogue and scenes felt so familiar it was like they came straight out of a Disney movie—or The Odyssey. At one point, the FMC even asks about Cerberus (not by name).
The main character is incredibly stubborn and defiant—understandable to an extent, but sometimes just downright irrational. Then again, I didn’t make great decisions either back in the day… especially not with a bottle of wine in me. 🍷
The fight scenes were well done, but the plot had me thinking more than once: “This could’ve been so much simpler?!”
The books in this series seem to be standalones set in the same lore universe. I’m definitely curious about the others.
