very unique and interesting for what it is, a novel adaptation of a comic book character created by keanu reeves. love mieville, and i think a lot of the bad reviews are from people not as familiar with his work. keanu is on the record stating that china pretty much just took his world and character and wrote a completely original story using them, so if you’re expecting something actually written by keanu, you’re in for a surprise.
