Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Okay so I really really hated this one. What I hate the most is that I loved the concept and the setting but it just didn't live up. Like this could have been a really cool read if the characters weren't so unbearable. I hated Patch the most; like this guy is supposed to be the good guy? He routinely stalks and tries to kill his love interest and this is portrayed as romantic. At first Nora hates him and finds it creepy and yet she falls for him anyway. The dude was a creepy through and through and would not take no for an answer. The whole book consisted of him cohering Nora into getting rides with him and hanging out with him. There was one part where he had her pinned to a bed (if I read that right). And again, this is portrayed as romantic.

Nora was awful too. She had no backbone. She was whiney. And when she did stick up for her friend she resorted to calling someone an 'anorexic pig' which was just cringe as hell. She's also just really dumb. Like absurdly so.

I liked Vee at first but towards the end when she was hanging out with Juuels and Elliot she got annoying really quickly. She kept talking about boobs and sex to a point where it just got super uncomfortable. And the 'babe' thing got on my nerves after a while.

I also don't know what the point of what's her name (the mean girl) getting beat up? Did anything ever come of that? I feel like I lost the plot halfway through. Maybe it's because my eyes started to gloss over after a while so I just didn't put two and two together but the Patch plot line, the Elliot plot line, and the part where that chick got beat up just all seemed disjointed and unconnected.

Just a horrible book all around imo. It's like Twilight but more boring. And tbh, even Twilight (after a re-read years later) seemed to portray Bella as the annoying one. That's more than this book can say.
