Uhhhh idk why this was on my holds list, I’m kinda upset i waited several months for it. It was boring. Even though it was short i almost considered dnf it even though it was so short. (Im even finishing my review before im done). It felt pointless and i didn’t really care for the storyline. If you like the jungle cruise aspect of this book read the book The People in the Trees by Hanya Yanagihara. Although i do have problems with that book as well it’s such better commentary of colonialism (again idk if that’s what the point of this book was but i kept comparing the two books). If you like the tone narration of the book it felt like Don quote. I don’t think all classics deserve the recognition they get and this one definitely felt forgettable.
