Character
I have never read a book in first-person plural. It definitely took me a bit to get into, but once I got used to the style, I have to say I really enjoyed it. The book is also very much character driven and slow paced. This also caused me a bit of a struggle when getting into the story as well. Once the story hit it's stride I was completely hooked. I loved the dynamic of the three sisters and their role within the family. I liked the small-town college vibes. The three sisters all navigating their own dilemmas and cross roads while coming together for their mom (trigger warning for cancer). I liked the Shakespearian aspect (though a lot of the references were lost on me and somebody who is more familiar with Shakespeare would appreciate that aspect a lot more). All in all, if you like character driven stories filled with emotion and humor, this might be one you enjoy.
