My heart is happy and my soul is full. I’m not usually one for historical fiction, but this one changed my mind! I loved the way that this book was written— the reader really feels like they were in the story, watching it play out alongside the characters. I also loved how the characters evolved throughout the story— their dynamicism was absolutely stunning and loved all the changes that occurred! I loved the religious aspect of the story the most. The way Angel went from hatred to denial to tenacity to acceptance to evangelicism brought me to tears. I would recommend this book to fans of historical and religious fiction!
