Wonderful to have access to Maya Angelou's world and the inner workings of her mind. The book moves quickly and entertains (hello Sheikhali!), while also providing a poignant glimpse into the search for ancestry, the search for home. Sometimes I felt a bit lost with the number of names that were being dropped, but I suspect that Angelou wanted to honour friends by including them. Overall, a delightful travel memoir and a beautiful reclamation of identity.
