"to shitty men, and the women who put them in their goddamn place."

alexa, play the album lover by taylor swift, because i have never read a book that fits a taylor swift album so perfectly as delilah green doesn't care.

honestly, i forget how much i actually like romance books, especially, especially, sapphic ones. this one gripped me from the beginning, and i was enraptured by delilah green from the first page. she has tattoos for god's sake, what else do you want? oh, and she also a lot of trauma from being left out her whole childhood by her stepsister astrid (ass-trid. i loved that) and her shitty stepmum isabel. but then astrid is getting married, and asks delilah, who is a budding photographer, to photograph her wedding for money. how can delilah refuse, really? and then she meets claire, astrid's best friend.

"if eyes were the window into the soul, delilah's had long been shuttered."

now if you think romance is good, it's dual pov. IT'S DUAL POV. THAT MEANS WE GET THE PINING FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE COIN AND HOLY SHIT IT WAS SO GOOD. there was just the right amount of spice, hilarious moments from delilah, angst and tension to fully make this book a good book. it quite literally made me laugh out loud sometimes (luckily i didn't read this in public). god i forget how much i love romcoms until i actually read one. i really need to read more of these, and apparently there's going to be two more? ones about astrid and iris? and they're ALL sapphic? us gays are really getting fed here. ALSO IRIS! delilah and iris were quite literally the most humorous pair i have ever read about. they were perfect, and so were their little schemes and comebacks and conversations.

all in all, this was quite literally a wild ride. i will definitely be picking up the other books in the bright falls series by this author.
