Let's get the best part about it out of the way first, the art is fantastic. Moody, creepy, interesting, mysterious, all in one. Not to mention the little girl is adorable.
We have a creature that's covered in what looks to be all black mist type stuff. Shiva is the little girl who he has been taken care of. The one rule is she is not allowed to touch him as she will turn into a monster like he is. So through the story you learn why they're being hunted, these creatures, and why Shiva is left in his care.
It's the fairytale like approach the got me hooked here. Almost like reading one of my favorite childhood stories I never knew about at 32 years old. The art is so captivating that I wanted to read more right away. I enjoyed this book a lot despite reading is quickly (Within 15 minutes I was done) and intrigued where we will go from here. A really great first outing.
