Punderworld

I love that the writer clearly did research into both the myth and the cultural aspects of Hellenistic worship, even calling back to the Homeric Hymn of Demeter and referencing festivals dedicated to Demeter and Persephone. I thought the running joke regarding Kore was fantastic and loved the attention to detail with the crowns for mother and daughter. Additionally, each God reflected their original mythical selves while being rewritten for a modern audience instead of being just totally entirely rewritten to have different personalities to suit the storyline and having no basis on the original established personalities of the Gods, and I loved that. I especially loved the twist on the original myth of how Hades got Persephone into the Underworld where it did away with the more problematic issues regarding her consent. I’m already salivating for the second volume
