Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
2.0

Plot: 0
:/ This was a let down. First of all, Sarah Dessen was, in my mind, supposed to be some goopy romance writer. I read this book hoping for at least a compelling couple. But there barely any romance plot in this book at all. I kept on waiting but it just never came. Also, I sort of liked the actual plot. It was okay, and I enjoyed it, but it was also incredibly cliche, and at times made it difficult for me to believe.
Characters: 1/2
They all had their own personalities, which I liked, but I didn't feel anything for them. Which is a MUST for me.
Description: 1
Dessen is actually a kind of good writer. I'll give her that.
Style: 1/2
Eh. It was okay, and funny at times, but there was nothing that hooked me on it.
Symbolism: 1/2
I liked the bike metaphor, and there was some cool stuff. But it wasn't at all sneaky. Which was a bummer.
TOTAL: 2 1/2
Don't be fooled by my rating. I still enjoyed reading this book a lot, and I'm sure lots of others would enjoy it, too. But critically speaking, it just wasn't that good of a book. I wasn't that surprised by my rating. I will be reading at least one more book by Sarah Dessen, because my friend recommended it to me.
