I'm only 10% of the way through, but I was picking up on something that made me go searching through reviews for spoilers and I'm glad I did.

I think this story was set up to be a great one (overlooking that the author has to constantly tell us how mature the main character is while her actions say otherwise), but I don't want to invest time into a 600-page book when the main character plays second fiddle to another love interest. I know I'm only 10% of the way through, but so far the men have way more chemistry together and should probably have been end game. This is probably because the main love interest is currently so young in the story, but it doesn't change the fact that the signs were there so early that I had to go check the reviews to make sure I wasn't crazy. I want a HEA and the main character being a convenient runner-up is not a HEA in my view. Nothing against this author, but I'm just not in the mood to be sad
