The Beholder by Anna Bright

2.0

Oh dear. I do hate to write brutal reviews, but this is as though someone took a beloved book of European fairy tales; threw in a few scraps of The Odyssey, a childrens' atlas and a multi-lingual phrasebook; ran it through a shredder and then made an origami trainwreck sculpture in an American cornfield. It's quite a feat.

Disclaimer: I am obviously too old, too European and too widely-read to be the target audience. Other readers may think it delightful, though I am hard-pressed to think of a sappier heroine, which may put many off. The cover's pretty, though.
