A truly clever modern mystery, inspired and referrencing many classics- namely Sherlock Holmes. The mysterious murders and disappearances in Ellingham Academy swept me off my feet once again. The mysteries- old and new- unfold and with each layer I’m more intrigued to find out the truth.
I have to add that the main character is so well developed that at times of distress, I found myself tearing up. To a detective story. Who the heck have I turned into?
Overall, it’s rare for me to love a sequal to a book I liked, but I may have enjoyed this even more than the first! The cozy yet mysterious setting and the geniously crafted mysteries have definitely provided me a solid seasonal read.
