A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

1.0

I have to give this 2 stars cause I read it to the end.

This a slow and meandering. The only stuff I really enjoyed was Nesta’s interactions with herself in her training and attempts to drag herself up.
I don’t think PTSD can be fixed with ultimatums and training. That’s just not how it works.

The sex was boring.
Licked, sucked, f*^%ed and then choose a tempo. It wasn’t hot or steamy. Parts were downright biological. I skipped all sex scenes after the first. I’m no prude. It was BORING.

The whole Troves storyline? BLECH.
The whole Rhysand lying to Feyre storyline? DOUBLE BLECH.
I hate how watered down those characters are.

Nesta having to do all the groundwork to make amends was also BLECH. Apparently it was AA for traumatised women. Yayyyy.

An editor needed to go through and fix this but they didn’t. At some point, most authors reach a point where they’re allowed all their little bits and pieces to stay in the novel. We’re definitely past that with SJM.

Last thought: are Cassian and Hunt not the same dudes? Did they come from the same tough guy with a dark background template?
