I did not enjoy this book. I found the characterization to be "whatever the plot needs," particularly of the main character. I felt the MC needed much clearer strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, I found myself annoyed at her choices and loyalties instead of being convinced and emotionally invested. The villain was fine, but I was annoyed by

the reveal that he had been manipulating things for 5 years? And the whole dungeon sequence was just confusing.

I have too many thoughts to list here, but I had to really force myself to finish and won't be picking up the next one. The plus side is that I used it for my "book club" Book Bingo square, so that justified me pushing through.
