Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand

4.0

This true story about an immensely resilient individual became hard to read after a while because of many descriptions of the extreme cruelty undergone by the POWs in Japan. I give it 4 stars because Louis Zamperini is one tough guy and Laura Hillenbrand is a skillful storyteller. Much food for thought about how some individuals have such an ability to survive and about the sacrifices military people make. One also marvels at the level of cruelty that people can inflict on others.
