This was a reread for me. I've read this before and seen the television show adaptation and remember liking both well enough. And for a reason I can't explain felt like rereading it and I'm so glad I did. This book- in a word- is beautiful. The style of the writing or prose of it. Not flowery or over-indulgent but simply truthful and beautiful in its shortest descriptions of everyday life; of the things we take for granted. The things that don't change from the way they were before the end of the world to way they are after. I loved all the characters and their individual stories and Journey's, all the hardships, internal and external, they face, knowingly and unknowingly. I love how all their stories intertwine in smallest of ways. I just really love this book and the story within.
