The Midnight Lie by Marie Rutkoski

4.0

This was a beautifully written story that features a heart-warming heroine. The relationship between Nirram and Sid was so soft and lovely. Nirrams character development was outstanding, and made me both love and hate the ending. It was a good pain and I'm excited to see how it's acted upon in the next book.

My only gripe with the book is how difficult the beginning was to read. A lot of the sentences were short, clipped, and rigid. The author also has a habit of not using quotation marks which sort of muddled things at first. It got easier after a bit, and I'm glad I threw away the thought of DNF-ing it.
