Clouds by Aristophanes

2.0

Interesting how Aristophanes satirises Socrates' more 'rational' arguments as compared to what, in his time, was considered the 'true' state of affairs - a world surveilled and acted upon by the great pantheon of Greek gods. Nevertheless, from an external (current) point of view, both sides of the argument turn out to be wrong. It is an interesting case study though into the concept of Justified True Belief (JTB), especially with the dialogues between Right Logic and Wrong Logic. I also liked how Aristophanes' parabasis proper actually feels metafictional in a way. For example, he calls on the audience to vote for this play over the other prizes, and praises it in a break from the normal narrative.
