The outlier of PKD's VALIS books - it doesn't even mention the word. Although it includes theological and philosophical meditations, this is more concerned with the effect of delusion on the loved one's of the delusional. It is closer in tone to PKD's literary novels than any of his SF work, even VALIS. Moreover, being his final published book, it reads as an exploration of death and legacy.
