In this book Ruth goes away to Italy for a while, to help a friend from her past with a dig. She takes Kate with her and Shona and her son also join. In the meantime, Nelson is also visited by someone from his past, but that is less peaceful than Ruths encounter. Or is it?
This might be one of my favorites in the series. It had a compelling mystery, but it was also really nice to see Ruth away from the Saltmarsh. I love how the personal dynamics get flipped upside down in this one. I find myself drawn into the personal drama more and more after every book. It's almost like reading a soap opera combined with Bones haha. Loved it. The only negative is that I probably have to wait a long time for number 11 to come out.
