I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I do.
Beginning the novel I was thinking I would give it a 3/3.5 because while it’s fun, the writing isn’t remarkable.
However, while these things still hold true, I have a soft spot for pirates and the fantastical elements worked well.
Furthermore, I love the back-and-forth relationship between the protagonist and the love interest and really appreciate the author for sticking to the slow burn.
As a last point, the fact that the protagonist is pretty much like “ugh men🙄” throughout the entire book is very amusing to me and I absolutely agree with her.
