Did not finish book. Stopped at 39%.

sorry but it's sooooo long & i guess ur supposed to find the rigid manners of "Englishness" to be quaint if not charming. but i really can't stand the cutesy, precious tone abt men like Mr. Norrell. i looked up a plot summary & i understand it's meant to be subverted but i'm 12.5 hours of audiobook into this & i don't care to read 1000 pages just to see it make the mildest ever point. 

i think the conceit is clever but this is for ppl who can stand to spend dozens of hours being cute abt Regency era British society. while i myself couldn't give less of a fuck
