The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett

4.0

Despite loving Pratchett since I was 11 and also heavily obsessed with witches, I never encountered his kids/teen Tiffany Aching books. Listening was delightful of course, and I’ll be jumping right into #2.

It does read kind of like a prototype for developing a different Discworld character I LOVE, Susan (Death’s niece), who is also very strong-willed, independent, intelligent, and pragmatic, and the queen’s dream land reminds me of the children’s drawing place in Hogfather. It’s also cool to see the feegles in their own home, as I’d previously only known of the one in the Watch.
